St Peter & St Paul – The Parish Church of Shorne, Kent
Our congregation gives a friendly welcome to visitors and new members at all our services. It is the Church of England parish church and the only church in the village of Shorne that holds regular weekly services, so we aim to make our services appeal to Christians of all denominations and shades of belief.
We believe Jesus’ message is vital for the world in which we live and we seek to present that message in a way that mixes both time-honoured elements of our tradition with ways that are appropriate to our community of the 21st century. We meet together to worship God, to hear and respond to His word, to support each other in the Christian life and to reach out to others. We hope you find what answers to your initial queries here on this website, and we look forward to meeting you in person soon.
On Sundays at 8am we hold a traditional service of Holy Communion without music taken from the 1662 Book Of Common Prayer. At 10 am we hold a longer service with music. On the first Sunday in the month this is a service without Holy Communion designed for families with children, though all ages are welcomed. On the third Sunday is a simple service of Holy Communion for families. The other Sundays are usually the full Holy Communions service in modern English from the Common Worship book.
